Wayne State launches $20 million study on cannabis for veterans’ mental health
Wayne State University is initiating a study to help veterans with PTSD and depression by examining the effects of THC and CBD, the main compounds in cannabis. Funded by nearly $20 million in grants from the Michigan Cannabis Regulatory Agency, the study will involve a 12-week program testing various levels of these compounds on veterans' mood and well-being. Key researchers Dr. Leslie Lundahl and Dr. David Ledgerwood are leading this effort, driven by the urgency to address veteran suicides in Michigan.
