U.S. Mint's 2025 pennies sell for $17M

Collectors are paying significant amounts for some of the final U.S. pennies, with 232 sets of 2025 pennies auctioned last week. The auction, held on behalf of the U.S. Mint, saw the first set sell for $200,000, escalating to the final set, number 232, which sold for $800,000. In total, the sets generated nearly $17 million, each featuring a penny containing 24-karat gold, enhancing their value.
