Firefighter injured as Southgate motel ceiling collapses during fire

Multiple fire departments, including Southgate, Allen Park, Lincoln Park, and Wyndotte, assisted in extinguishing the blaze, which was aided by strong winds directing the fire away from occupied areas. The firefighter was hospitalized but is expected to recover. The cause of the fire is under investigation, and the motel is relocating affected guests to undamaged rooms.
