Police vehicle hit as Warren police help with different crash

Warren police officers narrowly avoided injury on I-696 when a white Chevy collided with their Tahoe while they were responding to a crash near Mound Road. The officers' emergency lights were active, but the 75-year-old driver of the Chevy was driving too fast for the conditions. While both vehicles were heavily damaged, there were no injuries. The driver was ticketed, and investigators confirmed that drugs and alcohol were not involved.
