Powerful winds cause Lake Erie to flee Ohio, Michigan

A rare seiche occurred on Lake Erie when strong winds exceeding 60 mph pushed the water to one side of the lake, resembling a giant bathtub sloshing effect. This event caused waves up to 20 feet high, creating hazardous conditions and exposing parts of the lake bed near Luna Pier, where even a lost snowmobile was revealed.
