High-profile murder, assault trials dominate Metro Detroit courts early 2026
Metro Detroit is set for a busy start to 2026 with six high-profile trials scheduled in the first three months. The trials begin with Desmond Burks, charged with the 2023 murder of Dr. Devon Hoover, followed by Dale Warner for the alleged murder of his wife, Dee Warner. February sees the trials of Floyd Galloway for the murder of Danielle Stislicki, Buster Robbins linked to a 1989 rape case, and Jarvis Butts for the assault and murder of Na’ziyah Harris. The series concludes in March with Matthew Weiss facing charges for computer crimes involving private photos of student athletes. Other significant cases include Justin Miller's arraignment for terrorism-related charges and Deandre Booker's ongoing trial for murdering his ex-girlfriend.
