Man armed with knife shot by police in Allen Park

A call about a man threatening to hurt himself ended with a shooting by police on Sunday. The shooting happened just before 6 p.m. on Jan. 4 on Southfield Road near Dix in Allen Park. According to authorities, officers responded to a report of a suicidal person and spoke with the man armed with a knife at a coffee shop. Police said he refused to put down the knife and became aggressive.
