Man hit, killed by Road Commission for Oakland County plow truck, driver charged
An employee of the Road Commission for Oakland County, Bryan Derryberry, has been charged with failing to stop at the scene of a crash after allegedly hitting a pedestrian with a plow truck on January 1. The victim, 68-year-old Edward Detroit, was found unconscious on Middlebelt Road in Farmington Hills and later died at a hospital. Evidence linked Derryberry, who has worked with RCOC for three years, to the incident, leading to a charge carrying a potential five-year felony. Released on a $100,000 personal bond, Derryberry is set to appear in court on January 16.
