Romulus shooting suspect disrupts court, cusses out judge
Shawntez Marshaun Gregory, 44, from Romulus, was charged with multiple offenses, including making threats of violence against a school and firearm-related charges, after allegedly firing a gun near Romulus Middle School on January 6, while his son attended the school. During a virtual court appearance on January 8, Gregory refused to cooperate, using profanity towards the judge and remaining silent when asked to state his name. Despite his behavior, the court proceeded to arraign him, noting his history of legal issues including trespassing and violating court orders by kidnapping his son. The judge denied him bond, following police recommendations, and Gregory is set to appear in court again on January 20.
