Ann Arbor joins Sterling Heights in opposing ICE

Sterling Heights Mayor Michael Taylor seeks to limit the city’s interaction with ICE after a traffic stop revealed a driver with a warrant and led to ID checks of passengers. The city’s police focus on local crime, not immigration enforcement. Ann Arbor Mayor Christopher Taylor also opposes ICE cooperation, suggesting a ban on ICE from city properties, aligning with Washtenaw County’s existing ban unless a warrant is present.
