New Michigan law limits phones in classrooms -- What to know

Michigan schools are cracking down on phone distraction in the classroom. Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed a law requiring schools to keep phones away during lessons, unless it's an emergency or for schoolwork. The students will also be able to have their phones at lunch.  The goal is to help students focus better and cut down on screen time. It's a bipartisan effort to make classrooms more productive across the state. State Representative Mark Tisdel, R-Rochester Hills, joined Local 4 Live to discuss the new law.
