Better Burgers opens in iconic Birmingham spot, not affiliated with Hunter House

Better Burgers in Birmingham is setting the record straight. A note posted on the door clarifies they are not affiliated with Hunter House. The new restaurant says simply, “We are Better Burgers.” Mikos Plumaj, Better Burgers manager, said, “There have been a couple customers that have came in that have actually placed orders at Hunter House and we told them, ‘Hey, this is Better Burgers, Hunter House is down the road, located at the old KFC.’” When the open sign lit up again on the iconic building, locals wondered if Hunter House had moved back. The original Hunter House sat at the corner of Woodward and Hamilton Row for decades. But now, in 2026, the building has new owners and a new name.
