Robbery at Oakland County hotel leads to human trafficking arrests

An Inkster man, Jowuan Lawrence Shorter, and a Pennsylvania woman, Kylee Lynn Berry, were arrested in Southfield and charged with operating a human trafficking enterprise and accepting prostitution earnings. The arrests followed a report of a robbery by a 47-year-old Detroit man at a hotel where he intended to meet a sex worker. Police discovered drugs and evidence of human trafficking in two hotel rooms. Authorities are seeking a third suspect in the investigation, while Shorter and Berry are connected to other crimes in nearby areas and are held on $50,000 bond each.
