Canton Township targets dangerous intersections with $400,000 MDOT grant
Canton Township has launched a transportation safety program focusing on identifying and improving unsafe intersections, supported by a $400,000 grant from the Michigan Department of Transportation. Residents participated in a survey to highlight problem areas, such as the intersection of Sheldon and Ford, where temporary changes have been made to pedestrian signal timing. Longer-term plans include redesigning Ford Road into a boulevard with a center median to reduce turning movements, scheduled for construction in 2028.
