St. Clair County woman charged with torture, child abuse

A 39-year-old woman named Sarah Hager has been charged with torture and multiple counts of child abuse in Emmett Township, involving two former foster children who lived with her from 2017 to 2021. The children reported severe abuse, including being locked in dog cages, and the boy was allegedly beaten and humiliated. Hager was arrested on February 27, arraigned in Port Huron, and remains in jail on a $150,000 cash bond, with upcoming hearings scheduled.
