Know the types of credit card scams, other cybersecurity issues from a cybersecurity expert

We’re coming off Consumer Protection Week and getting a better idea of the issues affecting Michiganders the most. Attorney General Dana Nessel released the top consumer complaints from 2025. Coming in first were complaints against car dealers, auto repair shops, and car rental spots. Credit and financial concerns came in second, including debt collection, credit repair, payday lending, and mortgage brokering. Third was retail, like products that were never delivered, arrived broken, or didn’t work as advertised. When it comes to scams, they can impact anyone—even people you may not expect. There was an exchange between a staffer and a scammer, and the staffer ended up buying $400 in gift cards as a result. Rich Miller, the founder and CEO of Stack Cybersecurity, based in Livonia, joined Local 4 Live to discuss these types of credit card scams and other major cybersecurity issues.
