Novi residents demand answers after multiple water outages, main breaks

Residents of Novi are expressing frustration after a major water main break over the weekend, which is the latest in a series of water issues. The 48-inch transmission main break near 14 Mile and Drake affected both Novi and Walled Lake residents, leading to a boil water advisory. Long-time residents, like Dan Tollis, are questioning the effectiveness of temporary fixes and have reached out to city and state officials. Despite previous breaks along 14 Mile in 2017, 2021, and 2025, the Great Lakes Water Authority is working on repairs and has reported initial clear water quality tests, with further results expected soon.
