Video shows charred remains of truck being towed in West Bloomfield after temple attack
Video shows the charred remains of a pickup truck being towed in West Bloomfield on Thursday night, hours after an attack at Temple Israel. A man, later identified by authorities as 41-year-old Ayman Mohamad Ghazali, drove a truck into Temple Israel in West Bloomfield Township on March 12. After an exchange of gunfire with the temple’s security, he died at the scene. One security officer was taken to a hospital after being struck by the truck. No children or staff were injured. The FBI is leading the investigation and is considering the case as a targeted act of violence. A Local 4 viewer recorded the moment a tow truck passed them, hauling a burned truck believed to be used in the crash, as well as three Oakland County Sheriff’s vehicles following the tow truck. The viewer told Local 4 that they saw this truck being towed out of Temple Israel while followed by several Oakland County Sheriff’s Office vehicles. Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard, at a media briefing on Thursday, said the truck that crashed into the building caught fire, causing smoke to billow from several locations, including the roof and doorways.
