Trump, military escalate action near Strait of Hormuz as gas prices rise

President Donald Trump announced that the U.S. can independently secure the Strait of Hormuz following criticism of NATO allies for not aiding in reducing global energy prices. U.S. forces targeted Iranian missile storage sites near the strait with 5,000-pound bombs, claiming an Iranian blockade is keeping gas prices high. The conflict has escalated, resulting in a deadly missile strike in Israel, and led to the resignation of Joe Kent, the National Counterterrorism Center director, who opposed the war and stated it was influenced by Israeli pressure. The White House insists on having evidence of an imminent Iranian threat, though Democrats demand more transparency, while Israeli officials reported the elimination of two key Iranian leaders.
