Iran dismisses Trump negotiation talk as more troops arrive in Middle East

President Trump has stated he is considering seizing Iran’s Kharg Island, which handles over 90% of the country’s oil exports, and has suggested the U.S. might take Iran’s oil, even as he claims negotiations to end the war are progressing. The U.S. is deploying an additional 3,500 troops to the Middle East, with the USS Tripoli arriving as part of the buildup. While Trump highlights Iranian goodwill in allowing some oil tankers safe passage, Iranian officials dismiss talk of negotiations as a tactic to control oil prices and vow resistance, with the Iranian parliament speaker openly inviting a U.S. ground invasion.
