West Bloomfield temple attack was an act of terror, FBI says

The man who crashed his pickup truck into Temple Israel, the largest Jewish synagogue in Michigan, with the intent to inflict mass harm, was inspired by the Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah. Before fatally shooting himself after an exchange of gunfire with security, he had stocked his truck with gasoline and fireworks, targeting the Reform Jewish community following personal losses in an Israeli airstrike in Lebanon.
