A Washtenaw County family has filed a complaint against Duncan Disposal Systems and a former employee after a garbage truck worker was caught on surveillance video repeatedly punching a 17-year-old boy in a van. It began when the family tried to pass the reversing truck, leading to a verbal altercation and then a physical attack on the teen, who suffered a concussion, possible fractured rib, and a sprained ankle. The family’s attorney says the injuries have significantly impacted the teen’s daily life and activities, and they are seeking changes to the company’s hiring, supervision, and training practices. Duncan Disposal has fired the worker involved but declined to comment further.
