Man stabs Livonia officer after entering station lobby, threatening to kill everyone, police say

A man experiencing a mental health crisis entered the Livonia police station lobby, threatened to kill everyone, and brandished a knife. Despite attempts by officers and a crisis clinician to de-escalate the situation, the man became aggressive, leading to a struggle in which he stabbed an officer in the leg and caused an accidental gun discharge. The suspect was subdued with a Taser, taken into custody, and transported to the hospital for minor injuries and a psychological evaluation. The injured officer was also hospitalized and is expected to recover; the investigation is ongoing.
