Sanford Lake restoration begins, six years after dam failure

Water began filling Sanford Lake on Wednesday for the first time since the 2020 dam failure left nothing but mud for six years. Residents say docks are going back in and boats are coming out of storage, with hopes the lake will be fully restored by Memorial Day. "It's a dream come true," one resident said.
