Detroit animal shelter at capacity, urgently needs dog food, fosters after severe storms
Recent storms have flooded Detroit Dog Rescue with stray dogs, filling kennels beyond capacity and draining the shelter's dry dog food supply to critically low levels. An employee said the food was expected to run out Monday before donations came in — but the shelter says it still needs more. Detroit Dog Rescue has also been forced to stop accepting certain dogs due to the volume of strays coming in.
