2 killed in shooting on Detroit’s east side, police say

Two people were killed in a shooting on Detroit’s east side Wednesday afternoon, according to police. The incident occurred after 2 p.m. on May 20, 2026, in the 9600 block of McKinney Street, near I-94 between Whittier Avenue and Berkshire Street. Footage from the scene shows bullet holes in the driver’s door of a black car and crime scene tape surrounding the area. Authorities are continuing to investigate.
