After 3 strokes, dangerous blood pressure, Michigan woman finds relief through new procedure
Jamie Pepperman, a Michigan woman, endured dangerously high blood pressure for nearly a decade despite multiple medications and suffered three strokes as a result. After other treatments failed, she underwent a minimally invasive procedure called renal denervation at Corewell Health, which targets overactive nerves near the kidneys to lower blood pressure. The procedure dramatically improved her condition, reducing her medications and restoring her quality of life. Renal denervation is now covered by most insurers for patients whose high blood pressure is uncontrolled by multiple medications.
