Detroit Mayor Sheffield outlines city’s top priorities after historic community survey
Detroit Mayor Mary Sheffield has released results from the Rise Higher Community Survey, which had input from over 8,000 residents across all city zip codes and identified six top priorities: thriving neighborhoods, safety, infrastructure and transportation, open government, equitable pay, and youth opportunities. The city is addressing concerns with expanded 24/7 mental health crisis teams, increased bus driver pay to improve transit reliability, and new summer youth programs, while also enhancing transparency and creating a role to help residents navigate city services.
