‘Grossly negligent’: Southfield mom charged after 4-year-old dies following untreated seizures
Latoya Washington, a 37-year-old mother from Southfield, has been charged with involuntary manslaughter after allegedly failing to provide her 4-year-old son, Curtis, with necessary medical care following multiple seizures. Authorities report that Curtis was removed from the hospital against medical advice and was not given his prescribed seizure medication at home, leading to further seizures and his death. Washington was arraigned and released on a $20,000 personal bond with GPS monitoring.
