Spring snow showers in the forecast

This is a very weak snow maker

DETROIT – Snow showers this morning should hold off for most of the morning commute, but some of our western suburbs may start seeing light snow by 7am.

This is a very weak snow maker and it looks like most of us will see snow arriving by or just after 8 or 9am and lasting through the morning.

Don't expect to see anything more than a dusting to maybe an inch.

A few isolated areas north like Pontiac and Lapeer may get a bit more.

Winds will pick up too from the West 10-15 mph with some gusts over 20 mph.

Highs Tuesday will be near 30 degrees feeling cooler with afternoon breezes.

Dry weather Wednesday but cold still with single digit lows and highs in the upper 20s with partly cloudy skies.

Warmer weather is on it's way towards the end of the week.

Metro Detroit will have 40s on Thursday and Friday with another storm moving in that looks like mainly rain.

This should be rain midday on Thursday with highs in the low 40s.

There is a chance for a few periods of a wintry mix early Thursday and part of Friday.

The outlook for Sunday and Monday (opening day at Comerica) looks to be in the low with a slight chance for a light shower Monday during the game.

We'll keep an eye on any changes as soon as we get them and share with you on air and online.
