DETROIT – Temperatures were back to near average numbers Tuesday afternoon, but the humidity has yet to return.
Overnight skies will be mainly clear with lows in the low-to-mid 60s. Wednesday begins with low humidity, but that will increase through the day.
Clouds will increase, too. We'll have a few thunderstorms around late, mostly in the evening hours. Daytime highs will return to the low-and-mid 80s with heat index readings slightly higher.
Thursday will feature the same humidity and a few more thunderstorms in the afternoon, but many of us will get through both days without seeing a drop. Highs will reach the mid-80s with heat index readings close to 90 at times.
Humidity will drop by Friday morning, giving us a comfortable finish to the work week. Highs should remain in the low-to-mid 80s Friday through Sunday.
Right now, I'm keeping the forecast dry through the weekend, but there will be a disturbance to our north on Sunday that may get closer. Humidity will return to muggy levels by Sunday.
