Video shows tornado damage in southwest Ontario

No injuries reported

WINDSOR, Ontario – This aerial video from a helicopter Thursday morning shows damage caused by a tornado Wednesday night in southern Ontario.

The National Weather Service said eyewitnesses reported spotting the tornado about 7:10 p.m. near LaSalle, Ontario, which is south of downtown Windsor and across the Detroit River from Ecorse and Wyandotte.

Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens said no injuries were reported.

And that's a great thing to hear because this video shows just how extensive the damage is. The roofs of houses and businesses were torn off while trees toppled onto houses and vehicles. Power lines and utility poles were down across the area.
