From meteorologist Paul Gross:
The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Warning until 4 a.m. for all of southeast Michigan. Winds will increase markedly through the afternoon, with gusts approaching 60 mph possible. Keep in mind that severe wind gusts in a severe thunderstorm have a minimum criteria of 58 mph, so parts of our area may experience severe wind gusts later this afternoon and this evening.
The one positive is that deciduous trees don't have any foliage on them, which allows the wind to blow through them. Still, downed limbs and power outages are likely to occur with this magnitude of wind. Make sure that your garbage pails, recycling bins, and any other things that could blow away are brought in the garage or weighted down.
