Weather: Temps falling across Metro Detroit

DETROIT – An early morning cold front is squeezing out a few areas of drizzle and/or flurries and some gusty winds, but it will become mild through the mid morning and afternoon.

Morning temps in the mid 30s falling into the upper 20s and low 30s with wind chills in the teens to low 20s early. Temps will hover in the low to maybe mid 30s this afternoon under mostly cloudy skies all day and a few flurries here and there this afternoon. Snow chances are greatest along the Ohio/Michigan border this afternoon with a glancing blow of snow in our South Zone.

Light snow showers early Thursday could lay down a dusting for tomorrow’s morning commute. It will be cooler with lows in the teens and highs only in the low to mid 20s feeling like single digits all day tomorrow. Skies become partly sunny and the winds will kick up WNW 10-20 mph keep those wind chills low most of the day.

Friday is a bit warmer but still cool with lows in the teens and highs closer to 30 degrees. Light snow showers are possible, especially in our North Zone through the midday and will likely spread into parts of Metro Detroit. Snow accumulations are very limited to maybe an inch or two north and a dusting to maybe an inch in the heart of the area, closer to Downtown Detroit. Look for a warming weekend with rain chances late Saturday and a better shot Sunday. You can always take the weather with you with the Local4Casters app.
