DETROIT – A warm start with temps in the mid 60s to low 70s as you step out on this Thursday morning with nothing more than one or two isolated showers around.
Most of us will stay dry this morning.
The wind will increase all morning and especially this afternoon and a Wind Advisory starts at 11 a.m. and goes through the evening hours around Metro Detroit. Wind will be gusting 40-50 mph or stronger which makes travel tricky, and can lead to some scattered power outages.
Storm chances this afternoon
Highs in the mid 80s with some midday sunshine heating us up. Storm chances increase late afternoon too and Metro Detroit is in a Marginal Risk for severe storms. Monroe and Lenawee counties are in a Slight Risk which is a greater risk for storms to produce dangerous wind and lightning and downpours.
It’s cold front Friday as temps drop significantly into the mid 60s with mostly cloudy to partly cloudy skies. It will be a noticeable change from most of the week as winds shift N 7-12 mph and we will stay dry tomorrow.
Weekend shower chances are increasing and new data is calling for shower chances now on Saturday and more likely rain on Sunday. The model data is not certain on timing, but look out for Saturday showers in the afternoon with highs in the upper 60s.
