DETROIT – We are waking up to some patchy frost this morning as low temperatures have fallen into the 30s. A frost advisory remains in effect until 9 a.m. for all of Southeast Michigan except Wayne County. With another threat for frost tonight, remember to cover sensitive plants or bring the potted ones indoors. Hardy mums are find with these temperatures.
This morning marks the first frost advisory of the season in our region. Here is some climatology at DTW:
- Earliest First Frost: August 29, 1982
- Average First Frost: October 5th
- Latest First Frost: November 6, 1900
Today
A repeat forecast from yesterday. Grab your sunglasses and sweaters. We hold onto sunshine with highs in the low 60s.
Tomorrow
There will be the potential for frost Friday morning as temperatures fall into the mid to upper 30s. Clouds build in later in the day with highs around average in the mid to upper 60s. As low pressure moves into the Great Lakes we could see a little rain after sunset.
Weekend
Finally a fall-like weekend for fall activities! However, the approaching low pressure will keep conditions unsettled through Saturday as we will have a few rain chances, but not a washout. Trending a bit drier on Sunday. Both days will be seasonal with highs in the mid-60s.
Next Week
We will be dry through midweek with highs on either side of 70.
