Grab a jacket and an umbrella: Rain, wind hitting Metro Detroit Wednesday

Cooler than average end to the week

DETROIT – Don’t forget your umbrella and an extra layer today. Cooler conditions and widespread showers continue today into tonight. A strong upper level low centered over the Great Lakes will continue to pump in off and on showers.

Highs will only be in the low 50s today, dropping us below the average highs.

It will remain brisk with wind gusts between 20 to 30 mph. An isolated shower can’t be ruled out on Thursday. Otherwise, drier conditions return for the end of the week as we stay in the 50s.

Weekend & Rivalry Forecast

We trend more seasonal for the weekend. Whether you are a spartan or a wolverine, we can all cheer for winning weather for the big rivalry game. Plan for 50s while tailgating and 40s throughout the game and dry. Mostly sunny and upper 50s for Sunday.

Early Look at Halloween

A lot can change before next Friday, but long-range data is hinting at dry weather with highs in the mid to upper 50s for Halloween.
