DETROIT – There’s a chance for the season’s first snow in the weather forecast for Metro Detroit.
Long-range models show a chance for snow to mix in with rain on Sunday, Nov. 9, 2025.
Since we’re still six days out, there’s still plenty of fine-tuning to be done on this part of the forecast. But since temperatures are falling around freezing Saturday night, the rain could change over to wet snowflakes or a rain/snow mix on Sunday morning.
Highs over the weekend will be below average, in the mid- to upper 40s.
Here’s a look at the average first snowfall of the year for our area:

This week’s weather forecast
Conditions will dry out Monday afternoon and clouds will give way to some sunshine. Highs will rise slightly above average, to the upper 50s.
Expect windy conditions Monday as a cold front crosses the region. Peak gusts are likely to be 30-40 mph.
Tuesday and Wednesday will be quite weather days, with warming temperatures on either side of 60 degrees as a ridge of high pressure builds in.
Models are in agreement for a Clipper System to track through the northern Great Lakes on Wednesday, which brings windy conditions.
More seasonal low 50s are on tap Thursday before rain chances increase on Friday.
