DETROIT – From sixties to snow... Welcome to November in Michigan!
We are distinctly warmer this morning as clouds kept temperatures milder through the overnight.
Wednesday is the warmest day of the week with highs in the low 60s. There will be a slight chance for a passing shower this afternoon, mainly to our north.
Winds will be the headline today. Peak gusts will likely reach 35-40mph. Winds quickly die down through tonight.
Supermoon
Keep your eyes to the sky this evening, you will get another chance at seeing the supermoon.
This is expected to be the biggest and brightest of the year. The best viewing time will be shortly after sunset when it rises above the eastern horizon.
Rest of the Week
Tomorrow will be cooler and calmer with highs close to average, in the low 50s.
Widespread light rain moves across the region Thursday night into Friday.
We dry out Friday evening, but a cold front arrives late Friday-early Saturday ushering in an arctic airmass that settles in through the weekend.
Wintry Weekend
More rain could move in late Saturday night before transitioning to snow on Sunday.
Trends have begun agreeing on a favored track to bring wintry precipitation over at least the southern half of Southeast Michigan on Sunday.
It’s too early to talk snowfall totals, but it is worth noting that it looks like there will be additional chances to see snow as lake effect bands develop on Monday, especially as lows dip into the low to mid-20s by Monday morning with wind chill readings possibly as low as the single digits to our west.
