Warming trend continues through the week in Metro Detroit

Warming up to seasonal low 50s

DETROIT – The clear skies overnight allowed temperatures to slide, so even though it is a cooler morning, we will warm up to seasonal low 50s today thanks to sunshine. Winds slowly but steadily weaken through the day as high pressure gradually builds into the region.

We will trend dry, calmer and warmer on Friday, making this the pick afternoon to rake the leaves or hang the outdoor holiday lights. We flirt with 60 on Saturday, but rain chances increase by Saturday afternoon, pushing out before daybreak on Sunday. We will be cooler and windier to end the weekend. On Sunday, highs will only reach the upper 40s.

Next week, we will be in the mid to upper 40s with long-range data hinting at rain chances by Tuesday. With overnight lows falling below freezing, we can’t rule out freezing rain in the forecast during that time.
