Metro Detroit weather forecast: Wonderful Wednesday on tap

Highs in the mid 80s

DETROIT – It’s a very comfortable start this Wednesday morning with temps again in the 50s to low 60s as you head out under clear skies.

More sunshine today with humidity remaining on the lower side as highs get into the mid 80s this afternoon. Mostly sunny skies turn only partly cloudy with winds E 5-10 mph and no threat for rain on this Hump Day.

Thursday brings a slight increase in temperatures and humidity, but we hold off rain chances one more day. Expect highs tomorrow to get into the upper 80s, feeling a little warmer as dew points rise making it feel closer to 90 degrees Thursday. Rain and thunder are possible in Western and Central Lower Michigan, but we should remain storm free around Metro Detroit. Severe weather is also likely in parts of Lower Michigan through the afternoon and evening getting as close as the Saginaw Valley late tomorrow.

Showers and storms will be around or on our door step early Friday as a cool front approaches. So, expect scattered morning rain and thundershowers, and more scattered shower and storm chances through the afternoon. There doesn’t seem to be a lot of moisture with this cold front passage, so don’t expect a widespread soaker from Mother Nature. It will be more hit and miss. Highs in the low 80s and then falling mid afternoon as a pool of slightly cooler air comes in for the weekend.

The weekend looks mostly dry with highs in the upper 70s. But showers and storms may move in by dinner time on Sunday or early Monday. You can track radar and stay ahead of the showers and storms with our Local4Casters app.
