30-year old man hit, killed by car in Commerce Twp.

Alcohol not a factor for driver

COMMERCE TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A 30-year-old man from Farmington Hills was killed Friday night when he was hit by a car on the west shoulder of southbound Haggerty Road.

Police say a 69-year-old man from Morland Hills, Ohio, was driving a 2012 Infiniti southbound on Haggerty when he hit the victim, who was walking on the west shoulder. The victim was taken to Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver and passenger of the Infinity were wearing their seatbelts and alcohol was not a factor for the driver.

It is unknown if alcohol was a factor for the victim.

The crash is under investigation by police.
