Pontiac man stabs, abducts girlfriend after she dumped him in text

Woman's small children witnessed incident

PONTIAC, Mich. – A 30-year old Pontiac man stabbed his 27-year old ex-girlfriend, also of Pontiac, and forcefully took her from her apartment at knifepoint late Saturday night after she told him she no longer wanted a relationship with him via text message.

Police from the Oakland County Sheriff's Department responded to a complaint from the victim's 25-year old female roommate in the 40 block of Firelite Lane. The roommate said she tried to stop the suspect's assault, but was struck in the head and was bleeding. The stab victim's three small children, ages two, one, and two months, were there during the attack.

Deputies found the suspect on a nearby street and the stabbing victim in a house nearby. The suspect was taken into custody and the stabbing victim was transported to McLaren Hospital for treatment. She was to be treated and released.

Rage from his ex-girlfriend's text message prompted the suspect to go to her apartment, where the assaults began.

Child Protective Services removed the three children from the home and took custody of them. The home was in a state of disarray, with obvious signs of the assault, including blood and three steak knives, one of which was left outside in the snow.

The suspect was lodged at Oakland County Jail, pending warrants.
