Community mourns 6-year-old Detroit girl killed when mother's car crashed into tree

Crash remains under investigation

DETROIT – Myiah Tisdale is remembered as a beautiful, outgoing little girl.

The 6-year-old girl's life was cut short Tuesday morning when her mother lost control of her vehicle and hit a tree along Edmore Drive near 8 Mile Road and Gratiot Avenue. Investigators do not know what caused the crash. It is under investigation.

Nobody is quite sure what made 25-year-old Antaneisha Tisdale wreck her car. All police know is she's out of surgery but unconscious. They expect her to recover, but she doesn't yet know about her daughter's death.

The good news is her 1-year-old son, who also was in the car, is going to be OK.

Friends and family gathered Tuesday night at the spot where the crash happened on Edmore Drive.
