Detroit man charged in crash that seriously injured 2 bicyclists

Lamar Odom charged with moving violation, driving with suspended license

DETROIT – A 30-year-old Detroit man has been charged with causing a crash in June that seriously injured two members of a bicycling group.

Lamar Pierre Odom was arraigned Tuesday on charges of driving with a suspended license and moving violations, causing serious injury. A not-guilty plea was entered on his behalf by the court. His bond was set at $250,000, or 10 percent.

Odom is accused of speeding while passing a car at the intersection of Parkside and West McNichols on June 29.

Police said he tried to stop when he realized there were bicyclists stopped at the intersection, but slid and went over a small landscaping wall. He hit Stephanie White and Mike Greer, who were part of the Biking Belle Isle riding group.

Odom remained at the scene.
