DETROIT – A judge has blocked an activist's attempt stop a major payment to former Metro Airport CEO Turkia Mullin.
Mullin is due to receive $700,000 from the Wayne County Airport Authority Board because she says she was guaranteed that in a three-year contract.

She was fired three months after her appointment after it was revealed she got a $200,000 severance deal when she left her job as Wayne County's economic development director for the CEO position. Mullin later agreed to repay it and gave the county a check for the after-tax amount of $135,900. The FBI is investigating.
Activist Robert Davis' lawsuit claimed Mullin's contract was illegal.
He also filed suit against the Wayne County Airport Authority Board. That lawsuit alleges members of the board, Mullin and the search firm "Trust in Us" planned a sham search for a new CEO knowing all along Mullin would get the job.
