Man found guilty of murder in Detroit Uber driver's shooting

DETROIT – A jury found a man guilty Friday of shooting and killing an Uber driver in Detroit.

Dajaun Watson shot 51-year-old Modou Diagne on March 19, 2016. He was found inside an SUV in the 5500 block of Pacific Street on Detroit's west side, and died at a hospital.

Watson had requested the Uber, but had an altercation with Diagne. Diagne’s phone was stolen; Uber drivers don’t carry cash.

Watson was found guilty of homicide felony murder, armed robbery and felony firearms. He will be sentenced on March 9.
