PONTIAC, Mich. – The parents of three children, who spent two weeks in juvenile detention for refusing to meet with their estranged father, will undergo psychological evaluations.
Oakland County Judge Lisa Gorcyca ordered the evaluations Tuesday for Omer Tsimhoni and Maya Eibschitz-Tsimhoni.
The two have been at the center of a public custody battle over their children, ages 15, 10, and 9, which made news headlines when Gorcyca sent the children to Children's Village for being in contempt of her order when they refused to meet with their father.
Gorcyca later released them and they're now at a summer camp.
The couple divorced in 2009.
Gorcyca said something "drastic" has to be done to fix their family.
"You two can do this. You two can do this without lawyers. Sign it, do it, your kids can go off and be better than all of us in this courtroom," Gorcyca said.
Omer Tsimhoni has filed for sole custody of the children. A hearing in October is scheduled is scheduled on that request.

Gorcyca also issued a gag order Tuesday, which prevents the attorneys in the case from speaking about the case. She also sealed court documents.
