Woman charged in boyfriend's deadly shooting at Detroit gas station

25-year-old woman told police she fired in self-defense

DETROIT – A 25-year-old woman is charged with second degree murder in connection to the deadly shooting of her boyfriend early Saturday morning at a gas station in Detroit.

The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office said Starr K. Holmes shot Pap Robinson Jenkins, 31, about 2:45 a.m. at the Marathon gas station in the 12000 block of Grand River Avenue. The two had an argument when Jenkins refused to return personal items belonging to Holmes, the prosecutor's office said, which led to Jenkins' deadly shooting.
