Woman fatally shoots boyfriend after he allegedly tried to run her over at Detroit gas station

DETROIT – A man is dead after being shot by his girlfriend, who claimed he was attempting to run her over in his vehicle, police said.

According to Detroit police, a 31-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman were having an argument at a Marathon gas station at approximately 3 a.m. Saturday when the argument turned violent.

The woman claims that the man tried to run her over with his vehicle, and she shot the victim in self-defense.

Police confiscated the gun from the woman and arrested her.

The man was taken to Grace Hospital, where he died.
